Mainly because he exhibits a true artist's consciousness combined with a good dose of talent. Great art should take us into a new room, bring us a new point of view or root us to the spot with wonder, tears or even rage. When I look at Rick's work I am reminded of jazz music, good red wine and conversation late at night. His work moves, like a good jazz improv. For some people art is a weekend hobby, a series of pleasant watercolors or photo snapshots reworked in Photoshop. Talent is won, one canvas at a time, one moment of awakening at a time, in the daily work of the disciplined artist. In MHO, artists are torchbearers for our times. It is the work that shocked, provoked, enthralled and disturbed that will be remembered in the history books of time. Rick’s work is one of my favorite artist websites that I have designed.
