Dear Artists,
Be generous!
In our experience, one of the best ways that you can experience more abundance and success is to give freely to life. If you believe that the world is a competitive and unfriendly place and keep everything to yourself you shut down the natural flow of creative energy which can bring you happiness and success.
On the other hand, giving openly to life often brings tremendous rewards. If you are dubious, try reading “The Millionaire Mind” by Thomas J. Stanley and you’ll see that many successful people are pretty generous.
So, here’s your chance to give to your fellow artists…. Do you have an art marketing secret? Something which has really helped you to present, promote, or sell your work? It could even be an attitude you’ve developed or a special prayer to the art gods (!). Think laterally!
If so, email us your secret/tip/idea, and we’ll publish it on Art Marketing Secrets with full credit to you and a link back to your website (or email address if you don’t have a website).
We look forward to hearing your great ideas.

I would like to tell you about the "giving" that I have recently participated in.
I was asked by a friend of mine to donate a portrait. This portrait was of Benjamin Franklin for the town of Franklin MA. I did it to honor Ben Franklin's 300th birthday which is this year.
It turned out to be a great oppertunity because it was turned into the new town seal of Franklin. With news coverage and plenty of exposure for me. I of course have made giclee prints of the painting and I am marketing them to many different venues. Ben Franklin had his hand in so many things that I can't think of anyone else more marketable than him.
I now have an endless list of people to market the print to. All the historical museums, History books, Freemasons, Science Museums, Banks, etc. etc.
I say "If you have the free time to give, GIVE!" I had the time, and now my schedule is quite full. Between selling the print and being approached for portrait commissions, being asked to show my work in galleries, and most importantly: Being recognized by my community. Recognition is one of the most important things I think.
I have since justafied raising my prices!!
