angelsOnlineDo you ever feel that art is your calling – That one true thing that anchors your purpose and gives you love, hope, and meaning each day?

Maybe you are an artist who feels spirit move through you as you transfer paint to canvas or paper. Maybe you are a gallerist or curator who basks in the feeling of the perfect musical note when your exhibition is perfectly organized and hung. Or, perhaps an art dealer who realizes great joy by being the essential conduit through which art finds its place in the world of man.

If so, count yourself as truly blessed, for this is a rare and beautiful opportunity you have been given to grow and prosper.

Your profession is not what brings home your paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on earth to do. With such passion and such intensity that it becomes spiritual in calling. …… Vincent Van Gogh

Start first with your calling in life and pursue it with all your passion and life force. We think that life on earth is so much about getting by, paying bills, pleasing other people. But in truth, your calling is your only ticket to success and happiness. Even more basic, it will give you the courage to be a survivor. Why? Because you have a rare gift – an awareness of your reason for being.

If you should ever lose sight of your life, you have only ever to practice your craft and you will be instantly transported back into the land of beauty and purpose. If you dream of great success, focus first on your calling. Practice and pursue it every day. As you do so, the love and lifeforce that runs through you will become like a mighty river. You will become a magnet, attracting to you the situations and people who can help you take the steps forward you need to achieve your life’s calling.

What does this have to do with art marketing you may ask? Simple – if you just focus on marketing, selling, clients, and business you might have some success – just like any business person. But it is so much more powerful when you focus on your calling as an artist first and then take the necessary steps to market your work. If you allow yourself to develop into the magnet we described earlier, you will find that your marketing efforts will be much more powerful and synchronistic. Not only that, but you’ll often find that you attract better clients – ones who truly appreciate your work and can help you take the next step in your career.

But don’t take our word for it. Try it – What do you have to lose??
