“I’ve found that the best method to bring quality traffic to my art website is to use regular mail invitations. When I send a card or letter to an art dealer or collector, I frequently have a very good response rate and some real results. There is something very compelling about receiving a nicely crafted personal letter that you just can’t duplicate in an email.
For best results, I send a letter of introduction, together with a card from a recent show. The combinating of letters inviting arts professionals to the website is very powerful. In the past, I used to send out portfolios. It was expensive and time consuming so I could only send out a few at a time. Now for the same cost, I can invite thousands of quality visitors to my website gallery”

The same thing happened to me last year. This man contacted me via e-mail, stating he had a store in Finland and wanted two of my paintings for his store, he wanted to use his own shipper. I tried to research his store, but could not find such a place in Helsinki, nor could I find anything on his shipper. Immediate Red Flag so I e-mailed back and told him that I would only ship UPS or Fed Ex. He came back and insisted on his shipper and that he would send me a check. I wrote back that I was on to his scam and never heard from him again.
