Artist Website Tip #11 – Choose Your Website Designer Thoughtfully

Submitted by Daniel on September 14, 2005 – 10:33 amNo Comment
The most important thing when choosing a designer to create your artist website is to remember what you are trying to build – a beautiful online gallery space to elegantly show your work – this is very different from building a high-volume website selling printer ink cartridges and paper rolls!

Look for the ability to design a space to present your work. One way to do this is to find artist websites that you like and then contact the artist to get the name of their designer. Talk to the designer and see if you “click”. Ask to see samples of their work and to speak with previous clients about their experience.

If you enjoy chatting with the designer and like what you see of their work and the references they provide, there’s a good chance that you need look no further.
